How to make West Elm inspired Bin Pulls

Yesterday, I shared my HomeGoods table that I altered to look like my favorite West Elm Bin Pull Console table.  I not only loved the iron legs, but the bin pulls were amazing.  If I even thought about replicating this table, it had to include those pulls.  I searched and searched for similar pulls, but always came up empty.  That's when I got an idea and took a trip to Home Depot.  I picked up some sheet metal to make my own pulls.

Don't mind the crazy cuts, I was trying something else that didn't work out.
The distance of the holes for the original pulls were 5 inches apart.  The West Elm pulls were only slightly longer than the holes, so I made my pulls 6 inches long and tall enough to have enough metal to bend over.  Once the metal was cut I just bent it over with my hands until I was happy with the shape.  I would suggest wearing gloves, but if you don't just be very careful since the metal is pretty sharp.
I measured and marked my holes, then used a drill bit the same size as my screws to drill 2 holes.
I then took a very fine metal file to get rid of all the sharp edges.
I gave them a couple thin coats of ORB spray paint and they were done.

I should probably rename this post "what you can get at HomeGoods" since almost every single item on the table was purchased from there, including the basket, iron magazine rack, throw blanket, owl, frames and clear vase.  The lantern was purchased at Pier One 2 years ago during their after summer clearance and the books were picked up on various trips to Goodwill.
You can check out the entire table makeover here.
